Clinical Pilates

Clinical Pilates is a specialised form of Pilates that is adapted and guided by a qualified physiotherapist or a trained health professional. Unlike general Pilates, which is often taught in group fitness classes, clinical Pilates is more tailored to an individual's specific needs, often focusing on rehabilitation, injury prevention, and improving physical function.

Benefits of Clinical Pilates for Health and Fitness

Rehabilitation and Injury Prevention

Helps recover from injuries such as back pain, joint injuries, or muscle imbalances.

Strengthens weak muscles and stabilises joints, reducing the likelihood of future injuries.

Improved Core Stability

Strengthens deep abdominal and back muscles, supporting the spine and improving posture.

Enhanced Flexibility and Mobility

Improves joint range of motion and muscle flexibility, which is particularly beneficial for people with stiffness or restricted movement.

Addresses postural issues that can lead to chronic pain or discomfort, such as rounded shoulders or a forward head posture.

Postural Correction

Chronic Condition Management

Supports management of conditions like arthritis, osteoporosis, and chronic pain by improving overall function and reducing strain on affected areas.

Improved Athletic Performance

For athletes, clinical Pilates can refine movement patterns, enhance body awareness, and prevent overuse injuries.

Group Classes and Progressive Difficulty

Once you are confident with your specific program, you will be ready to join one of our small classes (no more than 4).
